Hey teacher friend! If you have stumbled upon this side of the Internet on purpose or by accident, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that you need inspiration for taming your classroom and Tame the Classroom has it for you.
Tame (verb): To change from the wild state so as to make gentle
Stay a while and read the thoughtful, truthful, and sometimes funny blog posts about taming everything about your classroom from lesson ideas, to classroom management, to taming YOURSELF and more.
Then share how you tame YOUR classroom by joining the Tame the Classroom Facebook Community. Join like-minded teachers from across the nation who share their fears, goals, advice, and experiences.
Now, a little more about how this website entered this place called the Internet. Tame the Classroom was founded by me, Jasmine. I am a mother of 2, wife to my husband of 6 years, and a teacher in my eighth year.
When my mom passed away in 2014, I realized that I was not living my life to the fullest like she did. I was really a shadow of myself, because I was always fearful of stepping away from just being a wife, mom, and teacher. I thought that was all I could be. So through the heartbreak of losing my mom, I began creating funny teacher videos as a sort of therapy for me.
That turned into many more videos and 1 million views and counting. I began a teacher blog way back in 2011 to share my experiences as a teacher and the blogging bug bit! Now, through Tame the Classroom, I share personal experiences of trying to keep it all together in the circus that is called my classroom.
Now, I can honestly say that I am living life to the fullest, just like my mom did. I am able to experience the joys…and headaches….of being a mompreneur and teacherpreneur while also trying (Lord, help me) to be the best mom and wife.
I hope the stories at Tame the Classroom inspire you, make you smile, and brighten your day.
